Dubai, UAE – In a recent operation, Dubai Police’s General Department of Traffic seized 36 vehicles within the past two days due to various traffic rule violations. The violations encompassed reckless driving, endangering lives, causing road disturbances, unauthorized vehicle modifications, unclear number plates, and littering on public roads.
Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Khalfan Al Qaedi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, underscored the strict enforcement of Decree No. 30 of 2023, which could lead to fines of up to 50,000 Dirhams for releasing impounded vehicles. He issued a stern warning against reckless driving and speeding, emphasizing that those who endanger lives or damage roads would face substantial fines and vehicle impoundment for varying durations.
Colonel Al Qaedi disclosed that approximately 80% of the violators had been involved in severe accidents, resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. He emphasized the unwavering commitment of Dubai Police to ensure the safety of all road users, pledging no leniency towards all forms of violations.
Colonel Al Qaedi also urged the community to report any road-related issues or negative incidents through the “Police Eye” service in the Dubai Police app on smartphones or by contacting the “We Are All Police” service at 901. Road safety remains a top priority for Dubai’s law enforcement agencies.
